John is working with dancer and choreographer Jonathan Goddard and the Rambert Dance Company on a new piece 07941611971 which will be performed at The Place in London on 11th and 12th October 2011. More details here.
John is organising CHRONOPHONICS an evening of music and film at The Grinning Rat in Ipswich on 27th October 2011. Music from Tonesucker, Menagerie, Brideburger and Ryan Jordan. Films by Aditya Mandayam amongst others. More information at the Facebook event page for CHRONOPHONICS.
The Flip-Flop Flop-Film Film-Club, a collaboration between Aditya Mandayam and John exploring ideas of Neostructural Cinema has been accepted for PIKSEL 2011 in Bergen, Norway, 17th-20th November 2011. John and Aditya plan to perform neostructural cinema live on 20th November.
John participated in the Suffolk Psychogeophysics Summit between 28th August and 3rd September 2011. He is working on analyses of atmospheric, meteorological and environmental data he collected at several sites of psychogeographical interest, as well as a piece of music (and possibly a film) based on recordings he took.
John coordinated the performance of Power as part of An Edible Compass at the Museum of East Anglian Life on 31st July 2011, an event within On Languard Point funded under the UK Arts Council's Cultural Olympiad.
The Prayer Companion is part of Talk To Me at MoMA, New York from 24th July to 7th November 2011. This is a collaborative piece by The Interaction Research Studio, Department of Design, Goldsmiths, University of London, which John is part of. John attended the opening of Talk To Me and stayed in Room 512 of the Chelsea Hotel just before it closed to guests. He is working on a piece based on his recordings made in the hotel.
